How much does it cost?
Free up to 100 hosted translations per week, no card required. Beyond that, plans start at $0.99 for a 24-hour day pass, or $4.99 / month for 1,000 translations. Power readers get unlimited at $9.99 / month.
Bring your own OpenAI key, run Ollama locally, or self-host the server and pay nothing per translation.
Which sites are supported?
Any site with manga images. We officially test on MangaDex, MangaPlus, Webtoons, Bato.to and ComicK — but the bubble detector runs on any image, including raws and local files.
How accurate are the translations?
The default backend uses OpenAI's GPT models — context-aware, slang-aware, and miles ahead of dictionary translators. It understands honorifics, character voice, and SFX. Not perfect, but consistently the best of any browser tool.
Does it work offline?
Bubble detection runs entirely in your browser. Translation talks to a cloud endpoint, so it needs internet. If you want fully offline, switch the backend to Ollama and run a local model.
What about my reading history?
None of it leaves your machine. We don't log which pages you visit, which series you read, or anything personally identifying. Only the bubble images go to the translation server, and only when you trigger a translation.
Can I customize the look?
Yes. Pick from CC Wild Words, Komika Hand, Comic Sans, Bangers, or system fonts. Adjust bubble opacity, font scale, padding, and shape. Color picker for the text.
